SEPTOPLASTY
WHAT IS SEPTOPLASTY?
Septoplasty, or septal deviation surgery, is a procedure performed to correct abnormalities of the nasal septum. The nasal septum is the wall that separates the left and right side of the nose. Just as a wall in a house, there are certain areas of the nasal septum that are "load bearing" and important for structural support for proper nasal function and shape. A rhinoplasty may be needed instead of a septoplasty if there is deviation of a "load bearing" area of the septum. Click to learn more about Dr. Patel.
